Women’s Gathering

Join us for a meal, a craft and screening of Two Spirits. This documentary tells the story of a Navajo mother’s loss of her child, Fred Martinez. Fred was nádleehí, a male-bodied person with a feminine nature, a special gift according to their culture. Two Spirits mourns Fred and the threatened disappearance of the two-spirit tradition, but it also expresses hope & belief that all of us — regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or cultural heritage — benefit from being free to be our truest selves.
