ATTENDEE INFORMATION

 

DATE AND TIME:
Saturday, May 9, 2026
12:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Doors open at 11:00 A.M.

LOCATION:
Wisconsin State Fair Park
Expo Center Hall C

COST:
FREE – there is no cost to attend the Honoring the Heartbeat Pow Wow.

REGISTRATION:
Pre-registration is not required but is encouraged. Walk-up registration will be available from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Pre-register to attend the pow wow using the form below.

PARKING:
Parking is available on the Wisconsin State Fair Park grounds for $13, payable by credit card only. Free parking can be found on the street surrounding the Fair Park grounds. Milwaukee County Transit System bus routes 33 and 18 have stops just outside of the Expo Center on Greenfield Ave. and on 84th Street.

OTHER:

  • A free meal and bottled water will be provided for all attendees. Meal and drink tickets will be distributed at registration/check-in on the day of the event.
  • Wisconsin State Fair Park does not allow carry-in of food or beverage items.
  • Concessions will be available throughout the day and are purchased at your own expense. Concession stands utilize a cashless system.

GETTING HERE & PARKING

PARKING
Wisconsin State Fair Park charges $13 to park in their lot, payable by credit card only. If you want to avoid the parking fee, there is plentiful parking on the streets surrounding Wisconsin State Fair Park.

DRIVE

  • From the North: I-41 Southbound to I-94 Eastbound. Take the 84th Street Exit.
  • From the South: I-41/894 Northbound to I-94 Eastbound. Take the 84th Street Exit.
  • From the East: I-94 Westbound to 84th Street Exit.
  • From the West: I-94 Eastbound to 84th Street Exit.

UBER/LYFT
Uber and Lyft will drop off at a designated area just outside of the Expo Center.

RIDE MCTS

  • Route 18 runs along Greenfield Avenue and National Avenue to downtown, dropping off closest to the Expo Center at the corner of 8th Street & Greenfield Avenue.
  • Route 33 runs along 84th Street and drops off closest to the Expo Center at the corner of 84th Street & Greenfield Avenue, as well as by Gate 4 at 84th Street and Washington Avenue.

    ADMISSION

    Admission is FREE for all attendees and dancers.

    ATTENDING/DANCING

    For a faster, more efficient check-in experience when the doors open, dancers and attendees have the option to pre-register. Pre-registration is not required but is encouraged. Walk-up registration will be available beginning at 11:00 A.M. on the day of the event.

    Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

    APPLYING FOR TABLE SPACE

    Applications for vendors and community resource organizations are available HERE. Applications must be completed no later than April 10, 2026. Walk-up registration is not available for vendors or community resources.

    CARRY-IN POLICY

    Wisconsin State Fair Park does not allow food or beverage items to be carried into the Expo Center.

    FOOD/CONCESSIONS

    All attendees, participants and vendors at the Honoring the Heartbeat Mental Health & Wellness Pow Wow will receive a meal ticket for dinner and a drink ticket for bottled water.

    Wisconsin State Fair Park concessions will be available for the duration of the pow wow. Concession items are purchased at your own expense. Concession stands are cashless.

    The Honoring the Heartbeat Mental Health & Wellness Pow Wow is a drug & alcohol-free event.

    NURSING/DECOMPRESSION AREA

    There will be separate designated areas for nursing and caring for small children, as well as for any attendees or participants who may become overstimulated or need to take a break.
