For nearly two decades, the Red Shawl Gala has celebrated the strength, resilience, and spirit of the Native community while supporting the mission of the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center. This year’s theme, Building Community, Honoring Legacy, recognizes the leaders, staff, partners, and families whose dedication has helped shape GLIIHC into the trusted community resource it is today.

As our organization enters a new chapter, we honor the legacy of those whose vision and leadership have guided our growth for over a decade each, including CEO Dr. Lyle Ignace, Director of Behavioral Health Deborah Black, and Board Chairman Steve Ninham. Their commitment to culturally grounded, compassionate healthcare has strengthened our community and built a foundation that will continue to serve generations to come. While leadership may change, our mission remains steadfast: to provide whole-person care that honors Native traditions, embraces innovation, and fosters wellness for the entire community. Together, we celebrate the journey that brought us here and look forward with hope as we continue building a healthier future for all.
