Community Gathering

Circles of Strength welcomes Rachel Fernandez of the Menominee Nation for a presentation about human trafficking and the role everyone can play in preventing and responding to human trafficking.

Namāēwkūkiw, Rachel Fernandez, is a mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister, and friend. She is founder and Executive Director of Maeqtekuahkihkiw Metaemohsak, Woodland Women. Governor Evers appointed her to the Wisconsin Women’s Council where she serves on the Executive Committee. She is the Data Sub-Committee Co-Chair of the Wisconsin MMIW Task Force. She is also of service to her tribe and is an elected official of the Menominee Tribal Legislature. Rachel is rooted in community and has been a lifelong advocate and activist fighting against gender-based violence and violence against Mother Earth.
